Montsheng Margret Tsiu
Honourable Montsheng Margret Tsiu was born on the 20th November 1964.
After acquiring her Overseas School Certificate through ST Catherine College in Maseru, she pursued the following qualifications:
- Diploma in General Nursing;
- Diploma in Midwifery, both qualifications were obtained from School of Nursing in Maseru;
- She further acquired a Diploma in Community Nursing Science from the University of the Free State;
- Post Graduate Diploma in Public Management through Regenesys.
She further holds the following certificate:
Certificate in Economic Development with the University of Western Cape; the qualification that places her most appropriately to be a radical economic activist.
- Honourable Tsiu is also bringing a rich work experience into the department.
- She worked in the deep poverty stricken and underprivileged former Qwa-Qwa homeland.
- She also worked at operational and management level at Makeneng Clinic.
- She is a former Director of Nursing in the Free State Department of Health.
As a trade unionist, she joined National Health Workers Union (NEHAWU) in 1993 and served in the following categories.
- Honourable Tsiu is also bringing a rich work experience into the department.

- She also worked at operational and management level at Makeneng Clinic.
- She is a former Director of Nursing in the Free State Department of Health.
As a trade unionist, she joined National Health Workers Union (NEHAWU) in 1993 and served in the following categories:
- Benefit Coordinator;
- Shop Steward;
- Branch Chairperson;
- Chairperson of Maluti Region in Qwa-Qwa.
In 2008, MEC was elected to a post of Provincial Chairperson of NEHAWU in the Free State. The position held for nine years.
She further served in the National Executive Committee of NEHAWU, Provincial Executive Committee of the Congress of South Africa Trade Unions (COSATU) and the Provincial Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC).
She is currently a member of the Provincial Task Team (PTT) of the ANC in the Free State Province.
Honourable Tsiu was appointed as the Member of Executive Council (MEC) responsible for Health in the Free State from 09th May 2018.
