Nick Hamman
Nick’s career in broadcasting began in 2011 at Stellenbosch’s community radio station MFM92.6 while he was pursuing studies in Politics and Philosophy. Without wasting any time, Nick rose through the ranks of the station and by 2012 he was the host of the Afternoon Drive Show. At the station’s awards that year, Nick took home a record breaking five awards including best presenter, best newsreader, staff member most representative of the brand, best show and the program manager’s award. Nick is also an experienced producer and was the station’s head of production for 2012. The show’s success was culminated by Nick being awarded a prestigious MTN Radio Award for Best Afternoon Campus Drive Show in South Africa.
In the same year, Nick beat out hopefuls from across the Western Cape and was crowned the winner of Good Hope FM’s campus DJ search. After only one month with the station, Nick became host of the station’s Weekend Breakfast Show, which saw him being nominated for his second MTN Radio Award. In 2014 Nick became one of the youngest presenters ever to host of a morning show on 5FM.
In addition to broadcasting, Nick is also an experienced master of ceremonies, having hosted countless private as well as corporate events. Some of Nick’s clients include The Western Cape Government, Macdonald’s and Stellenbosch University. Nick is also a professional voice over artist and has over 10 years’ experience as a gigging musician, playing as a drummer for bands in a wide variety of genre’s including jazz, hip-hop and rock. Nick is also available for hire as a DJ for both club and private events. He is versatile and able to cater to a wide variety of audiences.
Nick is considered to be a professional, educated, passionate South African. Hammon is fast becoming one of the leading forces in South Africa’s entertainment industry. Born and raised in Cape Town and now residing in Johannesburg, Nick keeps an open mind and is always up for anything.
