Jeremy Olivier
Jeremy Olivier’s music career began in his home town of Chinhoyi in Zimbabwe. His passion for guitar catapulted him into a gigging rock band, touring the country from the young age of just 14. Once he completed his A-Levels in Harare, Jeremy decided to take his music further, and moved to Cape Town, where he obtained his BMus Honours in Jazz Performance from UCT’s College of Music.
Now that he is well established as a guitarist and vocalist in South Africa, Jeremy has performed with some very famous, international and local artists. He has performed all around South Africa, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Dubai at various shows, festivals and concerts.
In February 2012, his first single, ‘Serendipity’ was released to radio which became an instant hit and introduced him as an artist to the radio-listening public. Following the success of his first single, Jeremy released a further two singles, ‘It’s My Time’ and ‘What About Now’, both receiving the same enthusiastic response from deejays and the public. All three songs were picked up by Moodmedia and are now being playing in the USA on the DMX Acoustic Chill channel as well as in retail stores throughout Northern America. Jeremy released his fourth single, ‘Look at us Now’ in February 2014 to radio and started working on completing his debut album.
August 2014 marked the release of Jeremy’s fifth single, ‘Beautiful’ which is a heartwarming song about his son that he adopted after being abandoned at birth. The song and the music video are currently being used by UNICEF SA to raise awareness for their new campaign called ‘’Ending Violence Against Children (#endviolence)’’.
