Munro Du Toit

Munro Du Toit

Munro Du Toit, When Munro du Toit came 3rd in the 2007 season of South Africa’s Idols competition, he knew he had taken a step forward in his career as a singer/songwriter.

This step forward has developed into One Way Ticket, Munro’s debut solo album which was released in 2009 by Sony Music Africa.

One Way Ticket was produced Brian O’Shean (best know for production work with Seether, Arno Carstens & Sugardrive) and up and coming production talent Paul Mc Iver.

Munro was born in Sabie, lived in Sedgefield and eventually moved to George where he matriculated in 2000. He‘s a consummate guitar and harmonica player and already started his first band in Grade 9! After matriculating, he moved to Cape Town, South Africa where he worked as a professional musician for a while.

He moved back to George and started studying whilst continuing to perform live and record songs. Today Munro holds a ND in Marketing Management. In 2006 he moved to Stellenbosch and together with his band “ALPHA BELL” toured, performed and played all over the Western and Eastern Cape.

In June 2007 Munro decided to participate in Idols and achieved 3rd place – an indication of this rocker’s immense popularity in a pop competition! Currently Munro is in negotiation with an international record label so fans can expect his debut album soon !
