Naima Kay

Naima Kay, born Lungile Khumalo is an Afro Jazz sensation and a SAMA Best Newcomer award winner. Naima Kay doesn’t not just have an amazing musical talent, but delivers good lyrics that easily relate to her journey and keep her listeners going.

Naima Kay started back in school; singing in the school choir as well as the church choir. When she fini\ shed school, she auditioned for the annual Ugu Jazz festival in Portshepstone, and that is where Mr Ngcobo from Touch Africa Records found her.

Her debut album, Umsebenzi was released in early 2012.Her songs are relatable to both young and older people because she writes about love, life and things that happen all around us.

Her brother, DJ Sammy, provided a fair share of musical inspiration, when he would ask her to write songs and then produce them in a small studio in his room, South Africa.
