Kgomotso Christopher

Kgomotso Christopher is a South African actress and voice artist best known for her starring role as Katlego Sibeko, the cunning and manipulative wife of a mining tycoon, on the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo. Kgomotso has also starred as Nox Madondo, a frustrated wife and HIV/ AIDS activist, in the e.tv drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls.

Kgomotso began her acting career as a drama student at The National School of the Arts in Braamfontein. She received her B.A degree from UCT and upon graduation was awarded the Jules Kramer Award for Fine Arts. With this scholarship she pursued her postgraduate studies at Columbia University in New York , where she earned her M.F.A (Theatre Arts).

Kgomotso continued to live and work in the USA and UK until 2008, where she worked behind the scenes for media and entertainment companies, including Channel 4 International, 20th Century Fox and Freemantle Media.

Kgomotso’s stage credits include ‘The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus’ at the Joburg Theatre (then the Civic Theatre); ‘Hamlet’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Horace Mann Theatre, in New York; ‘Giants: An African Antigone’ at Artscape Theatre; ‘The Rose Tatoo’ and ‘Annie Warbucks’ both at the Wits Theatre. She has had guest roles on a number of television shows including Madam & Eve, SOS and Backstage (all on e.tv) and on the SABC2 sitcom Moferefere Lenyalong.

As a voice artist, Kgomotso has featured in campaigns for clients ranging from MTN, Protex, Kit Kat, Spekko Rice, Sasol and FNB to mention a few.

Prior to joining Isidingo, Kgomotso worked briefly as a lecturer in the Drama Department at Wits University .

Kgomotso is fluent in English, seSotho and isiZulu.
