Koketso Mophuting
Koketso Mophuting is a television actress on one of South Africa‘s hit television shows, which has led to her becoming a household name. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the African Film and Drama Academy. There, she worked on honing her craft in preparation for a career on and off screen. She has since been active in the entertainment industry as an actress and content producer. This has seen her produce music videos for some of Africa’s most renowned artists. Such include Kcee, Burner Boy, D’banj just to name a few.
Her career began on the Mzansi Magic miniseries ‘Single Mothers’ in 2013. She portrayed the long-lost daughter of a woman trying to find herself. In the process of finding herself she finds her long lost daughter. Upon the completion of ‘Single Mothers’ , Koketso spent more than a year working behind-the-scenes in music video production. It was an incredible time for her, growing and understanding the Television/film business better.
But soon she found herself back on screen. This time it was on the popular series-turned soapie, ‘Isibaya’. She has been on the show for more than a year and is thoroughly enjoying her time there.
Some may remember her from the hilarious ABSA ‘gold value bundle’ television commercial in which she is receiving poor service in the form of a less-than-satisfactory massage, from an alternative bank. Aside from television work, Koketso is a voice artist.
She is also passionate about reading and is well spoken.Her passion for uplifting others and making a difference, particularly the youth, has led to her appointment as a board member for the anti Tobacco, Alcohol and Gambling Group (TAG); an NPO that aims to change policies pertaining to these three vices.
Koketso is an artist that holds firmly to the belief that one’s job as an artist is not just to entertain but to uplift and inspire; to change lives.
