Minnie Dlamini
Known for her magnetic personality and inimitable talent, Minenhle “Minnie” Dlamini embodies a brand of her own and has earned herself the title of South Africa’s Diamond with over 2 million followers both on Instagram and Twitter.
Over the course of her celebrated career as a media and broadcasting powerhouse, she has broken a number of records and risen to spectacular heights, one of which includes being the first South African celebrity to cross the one million follower mark on Instagram.
This all started in 2010 when her captivating energy and determination culminated in her winning a competition to be the presenter of a leading music show called LIVE, which launched her as a renowned personality across a host of platforms.
She then went on to become the face of a string of notable shows including SABC’s Soccerzone, Tropika Island of Treasure Seychelles and Turn It Out, where she featured as a guest judge. She was also appointed as the co-host of SuperSport’s Homeground in 2017, which is simulcast on Mzansi Magic.
Beyond television screens, Minnie has graced the cover pages of numerous high-profile publications including Glamour, GQ, Grazia and True Love. These appearances are testament to the wide attention that she draws through her infectious essence.
Her prominence in the awards scene has put her at the forefront of some of the most celebrated events on the African calendar, including the South African Music Awards (SAMAs); the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs); Miss South Africa and the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCAs), which is the largest platform through which film and television talent are highlighted on the continent.
In addition, she has presented the coveted BET awards in Los Angeles and her appearance at the PSL Awards made such an impression that it cemented her as the host of the prestigious occasion for a further four consecutive years.
As multi-talented as she is, Minnie has even conquered the small screen as an actress in the country’s most distinguished shows – Generations, Mzansi Insider, The Wild and Rockville.
Recently, her overall success in the entertainment industry motivated her to start her own production company, Beautiful Day Productions, which produced a smash-hit pilot series called Becoming Mrs. Jones broadcasted on Mzansi Magic.
Inspired by her desire to share her journey to marriage through her own eyes, this compelling and tear-jerking three-part series is the most highly rated show in the channel’s history. This response has paved the way for the company to embark on its second production, which is a new competition reality show for the channel called Spirit of Mzansi.
As a philanthropist at heart, she has put the spotlight on various critical causes through her endeavours, one of which included establishing the Minnie Dlamini Foundation in 2015 to sponsor the university fees of 29 students as part of her commitment to the education of young South African girls.
