Zakwe

Zakwe (Ntokozo Zakwe) was born and raised in KwaMashu in 1988.

He became popular when he won the first South African Hip Hop awards for best Lyricist and the The Metro Fm awards 2013 for Best Hip Hop artist. He released his debut album in November 2011 and before that he had released a number of mixtapes titled: STREET MUSIC.

The mixtapes made a huge impact in the underground scene as two of his tracks within the tape entered in Hype Sessions and received massive airplay. Zakwe’s talent has been noticed by many and has earned performances in all provinces around the country including prominent endorsement deal with SAB Miller, Hennesey.

Zakwe, It has also earned him performances at 2011 Metro fm awards in Mpumalanga and South Africa Music Awards 2012 and 2013 as well as opening for one of the greatest US rapper Kanye West on his show in February 2013 at the Dome in Johannesburg, South Africa.
