Vatiswa Ndara
Vatiswa Ndara is a South African actress, television and radio personality known for her ‘silky-voiced’ radio news reading, as well as performances in highly rated television shows, including Scandal, 90 Plein Street, Mfolosi Street (S1 & S2), Kowethu, and Ihawu. Most recently, she has acted in the highly popular Mzansi Magic television shows Igazi (S1 & S2), and It’s Complicated (S1 & S2).
Vatiswa is currently shooting the new e-tv drama Harvest. Other television shows she has appeared in include Shooting Stars, Gaz’lam, Nomzamo, Home Affairs, Tsha Tsha, Generations and the critically-acclaimed mini-series Society.
In 2006 she won the inaugural SAFTA award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Miriam in Home Affairs. She was nominated for a 2016 SAFTA in the category Best Actress in a TV Comedy.
One of the nation’s most recognisable voices over the wireless, Vatiswa has read the news for radio stations including Radio Transkei, Radio Bop, Kaya fm, Metro FM, 5FM and Highveld Stereo, and was co-host of Radio 2000’s morning drive show from 06h00 to 09h00.
Vatiswa is an avid health and fitness fanatic and has used her profile for motivational speaking events on healthy living and eating, and the benefits of exercise.
Vatiswa was proudly nominated and received the inaugural DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Award for Favourite Actress on 26 August 2017.
