Rui Oliveira
Currently serving as CEO of BFA Gestão de Activos, the asset management division of Banco Fomento Angola (the second largest bank in Angola). He is an independent technical-based trader, a financial columnist and contributor for the leading Angolan daily business & economics newspaper, Jornal Mercado. He also serves as a Board Member at Large at the Berkeley College Alumni Association.
Prior to BFA Gestão de Activos, Rui has held senior and mid-level banking and markets roles including: Head of Markets at the Debt Management Office (DMO); Founding Member & Executive Director of the Angola Securities Exchange (BODIVA); and at other distinct firms in Angola such as the Capital Markets Authority, where he served as an adviser to the Chairman. He began his career in the financial sector working for multinational financial services corporations including Morgan Stanley and Citigroup.
Rui holds a BBA in Management (with honors) from Berkeley College in. He is a MSc in Finance alumnus from Imperial College London Business School, and successfully completed executive programs related to market structure, securities trading and post trading at the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) and the London Stock Exchange Group Academy.
