Azania Mosaka
Azania Mosaka is a radio host and also a television presenter with over two decade of broadcast experience. In addition, this seasoned, sought-after and experienced Master of Ceremonies has hosted a variety of events ranging from galas to conferences and other diverse corporate events.
Heard each weekday on 702’s ‘The Azania Mosaka Show’ from 13h00 – 15h00, Azania has now settled into the seat vacated by Anele Mdoda on SABC TV’s ‘RealTalkOn3’.
She studied for a BCom degree at Wits University before attending Vega School of Brand Communication, but her radio career started when she joined Metro FM as a producer and as a stand-in presenter. She got her big break when she was moved from the ‘graveyard shift’ to afternoon drive time. The breakfast show followed making her the first female to host a breakfast show on a commercial radio station. Before leaving Metro FM South Africa, Azania hosted one of the biggest radio shows in the country ‘Totalbliss’ which was firm listeners’ favourite.
She then decided to deepen her broadcast experience and moved to talk radio. First was PowerFM where she anchored ‘Power Lunch’ and then on to 702 where she now presents #TheAzaniaMosakaShow from 13:00 till 15:00 every weekday.
She has also presented a number of TV shows and has served as a judge on reality shows ‘Popstars’ and ‘MTV VJ Search’.
Azania has graced the covers of ‘Destiny’, ‘True Love’, ‘Essays’, ‘Move’ and ‘Drum’ magazine and she features in Good Housekeeping and Glamour magazines.
Outside of her media work, Azania is a partner and director in a group of nail and cosmetics salons.
But in her own words, “My primary job is to be the mother to two children – and I have ambitions of getting a private pilot’s license.”
