Wendy Knowler

Cape Town based Wendy has, for the past 20 years, specialised in consumer journalism, both in print and on radio.

Nowadays, she addresses South African companies – across most disciplines, on diverse consumer-related matters. From how to deal with social media to how to train your staff to respond favourably to customers’ concerns – at all times.

Her first consumer column appeared in The Mercury in 1998, followed by The Star, Cape Times, Pretoria News and Daily News and since 2014, “In Your Corner” has been published in The Times – now Times Live, and the Daily Dispatch – now DispatchLive .

Her radio career kicked-off on East Coast Radio in 2004 and she is now also heard weekly on 702 Talk Radio and Cape Talk.

She began her journalism career in 1984, covering politics, fashion and just about everything in between on a variety of media platforms, and including a stint as a foreign correspondent, based in London. and after a brief stint as Fairlady magazine s consumer editor in the mid-2000s, returned to Independent Newspapers as consumer editor in 2006 where her columns appeared

She served on the board of the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance from 2010 to 2015, the last year as acting chairman and has won numerous media awards, including several regional and national Vodacom Journalist of the Year awards.
