Tebogo Moepeng

Full Time Shop Steward National Union of Mineworkers

Tebogo Moepeng was born back in the year 1979 in the former Bophuthatswana in the region called Taung at a dusty and rocky village called Kolong. He is married with 4 beautiful kids (3 Sons and a daughter)

He joined the mining industry in the year 2001 at a Platinum belt. He started working at the Platinum belt at Anglo American Platinum mine – Union Mine.

He joined the National Union Mineworkers the same year he was employed and later in 2003 was elected to be a floor shop stewards and grew with the ranks. In 2010  he was elected the Union mine Branch Secretary.

He have attended and graduated from different institutions of higher learning that includes. Human Resources Diploma Maccauvlei learning Academy Advanced Labour Law from the Pretoria University Junior Managers Programme from Wits Business School and Labour law- Procedures & Practices from the University of Cape Town. He is currently Studying B.com Industrial Psychology with the UNISA.

He served the workers with dedication and commitment and in 2016 I was elected as the Anglo American Platinum – NUM regional Coordinator. The following year I was also deployed as NUM – Anglo American representative at the IndustriAll Global Union. This is the position that I’m still serving at to date.
