Tivesh Nair

Tivesh Nair lost almost everything through covid, but managed to persevere through the tough time and adapt. He managed to evolve his business towards the e-commerce space. Creating, what is now one of South Africa’s leading online beverage sites. In doing so he has always focused on the upliftment of staff as well as promoting young/local brands through his platform, giving much-needed exposure to other breweriesq, wine farms, distilleries etc that suffered through the covid period.

Tivesh leads a growing team and business through the daily challenges of a small business in South Africa with a calm presence and the ability to continuously innovate.

The business was started with little to nothing and in just under 3 years has grown to be one of the leaders in the industry.

Tivesh started working right after school while studying. His career started in his family’s restaurant as a waiter. He then went on to work in Liquor distribution and events. With some events hosting up to 20 000 people.

Through all of this, he gained the perfect experience to start and run his online beverage platform.

The nominee has done work throughout his life in various underprivileged communities. From painting houses in poorer communities to feeding programs and school support for underprivileged children.

Tivesh has donated stationery to several schools as well. He has also been part of a feeding program where he was responsible for supplying all the food to a local school every week for over 5 years.

Tivesh lost almost everything he had in 2020 when covid began. He had just started his business in the liquor industry and covid almost wiped out everything he worked for. He also had his first child, who was released from the hospital on day one of the covid ban in South Africa. He navigated fatherhood as well as adapted his business over that 2020 period and managed to come out stronger.
