Tshediso John Matona

An economist by training, Mr Tshediso Matona was appointed directorgeneral in the Department of Public Enterprises in January 2011. He holds an Honours degree majoring in Economics and Politics from the University of Cape Town, and a Master’s degree in Development economics from University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. Other qualifications include an executive management certificate from Harvard University and a Harvard alumnus certificate in infrastructure development. Mr Matona is an economist by training and an experienced public administrator, having held several senior positions in government, including that of Director- General in the Department of Trade and Industry from 2006 to 2010.
