Mr Maxwell Sirenya
Mr Maxwell Sirenya was appointed to his current position in November 2011. He holds a MBA from the Cardiff Business School in the United Kingdom, a post-graduate diploma in business administration and a Bachelor of Technology diploma in Applied Science from Brighton Technical College.
From 1991 to 2004 he worked at Umgeni Water as a treasury accountant, planner and reticulation manager with responsibility for the provision of water to Vulindlela.Mr Sirenya was subsequently appointed chief executive at Amatola Water. On completion of his Amatola contract, Mr Sirenya formed Viwe Consulting Services which focused on rural development. In 2010 he was appointed as part of a consortium to conduct a five-year review of the national water strategy for the Department of Water Affairs.
His appointment as a water specialist was to address the sub-strategy of water conservation and water demand management in Water Services. Since June 2010, he has served as a member of the Agricultural Research Council.
