Daniel Wilhelmus Schoeman
Mr Daniel Schoeman was appointed to his current position in October 2005. He holds a BSc degree in Agriculture Economics, an Honours degree in Business Administration, and a MBA – all from the University of Stellenbosch. He also holds a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture Economics from the University of Pretoria. Mr Schoeman joined the Bureau for Economic Research, Co-operation and Development in 1973 as a professional apprentice before becoming head of agriculture three years later.
He was subsequently seconded to the former Bophuthatswana as economic advisor and macro-planner. In 1981, he was seconded to Namibia as director for capital and development projects before joining the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) in 1983. At the DBSA, he served as departmental manager and later as group manager for Region and State Function. In 1990, he was employed as general manager at the National Maize Producers Organisation and later returned to the then Bophuthatswana government to serve as executive director.He joined the North West provincial government in 1994 as director for development and strategy in the Office of the Premier.
