Rubben Mohlaloga
Rubben Mohlaloga worked in the office of the premier (Limpopo) as a communication officer from 1997 to 2000 and later joined the Limpopo Legislature as a media liaison and public relations manager.
In April 2004 Mohlaloga joined the National Assembly as a member of Parliament, serving in the portfolio committees on communication and foreign affairs. He chaired the ad hoc committee on APRM responsible for socio-economic development and also served as the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Land Affairs from September 2006 until the 2009 general elections.
Mohlaloga further served as advisor to the then Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba in September 2009 and later became GM: port control for the Department of Home Affairs. In July 2010 he was appointed as the GM: e-content policy development in the Department of Communications before joining ICASA as a councillor in July 2013.
Rubben Mohlaloga holds a master’s degree in public policy and management from the University of London, a BA degree majoring in communication and international politics from UNISA, a senior teachers diploma from the then Kwena Moloto College of Education in Limpopo, a certificate in information technology from the National Institute of Information Technology and a certificate in public relations practice from the Public Relations Institute of South Africa (PRISA).
