Adeniyi’s areas of specialization include commercial litigation and arbitration, corporate & commercial, banking, corporate recovery and insolvency, company and partnership disputes. He advises on all aspects of the Nigerian Litigation practice and procedure.

Adeniyi Adegbonmire is an experienced barrister and has represented a wide range of clients including multi-national corporations, banks, and other financial institutions. He has also represented a number of individuals in criminal litigation from the High Courts to the Supreme Court.  He recently concluded two criminal pro-bono appeals where he was able to secure the quashing of two death penalty sentences.

Adeniyi Adegbonmire heads the firm’s real estate practice and advises on all aspects of property law. He has been directly involved in advising various multinational and local clients on the acquisition of real estate in Nigeria. In addition, he has advised various clients on commercial lettings, compulsory purchases, property acquisition and investment, development finance, leases, investment sales and purchases, joint ventures, redevelopments, secured lending, mortgages and other commercial property transactions and documentation.

In Chambers Global 2013 legal rankings he received high praise for the pragmatism of his approach. “His strength lies in plotting a good strategy,” says one source, adding: “He’s interested in finding a good commercial resolution to the matter.”

In September 2015, Adeniyi was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Nigerian Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association; International Bar Association; Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (INSOL International), the Lagos State Land Use Charge Appeal Tribunal and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK.
