Aderonke Oluwafisayo Jaiyeola

Aderonke Oluwafisayo Jaiyeola is a Textile Designer with 10 years’ experience in the textile and fashion design industry. Currently, Aderonke Oluwafisayo Jaiyeola is the Creative Director of Mimiremi Creations, a Nigerian brand that is produced with Afrocentric fabrics and prints for the fashion and interior design industry. She is passionate about empowering women and girls through teaching them self-sustaining skills in schools. Aderonke is a Fine Arts graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University with a Masters in Visual Arts from the University of Lagos. She has produced award-winning designs that have been featured on fashion runways including the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Her designs also won the best textile design competition by the GTbank Lagos Fashion Design Week. Aderonke is committed to reviving the textile industry in Nigeria and creating more employment opportunities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Aderonke plans to set up an art textile printing factory in Lagos with the capacity to print on all types of fabrics. She also plans to partner with more schools to empower girls and women with self-sustaining design skills.
