Adey Tamire Oshone

Adey Tamire Oshone

Adey Tamire is a Policy Officer at the African Union Commission. She works in the development and finalization of various policies of the Commission for its peace support operations, including its policy on conduct and discipline, prevention and response to sexual exploitation and abuse and whistleblowers in Ethiopia. Adey has also worked on the policy guidelines with the African Standby Force in humanitarian action and natural disaster support. She continues work with the African Standby Force Maputo Strategic Five-Year Work plan (2016-2020). Adey Tamire Oshone supported the investigation and assessment of allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse in the African Union Mission in Somalia and subsequent consultations with troop-contributing countries. Adey holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honors and a Masters of Peace and Security Studies with Honors. Adey has attended training on Civil-Military Cooperation, Financial Risk Management, International Defense Resource Management and Exercise Planning. Adey’s interests include human rights and humanitarian law, conduct and discipline, protection of civilians, policy formulation and community work. She volunteers at Beza Community Development Association (BCD) by tutoring young children. Upon completion of the Fellowship, Adey plans on continuing her work in policy development.
