Adv Anton Alberts is a
South African politician and
FF Plus chairperson and MPL in Gauteng Legislature. He was born in 1970 and completed his high school education at the High School Roodepoort. He studied at the Rand Afrikaans University (University of Johannesburg) a BA Law degree and obtained an LL.B. in 1994. He also completed a post graduate diploma in Human Rights Litigation (Cum Laude) in the same year.
In 1998 he obtained a LL.M. degree (International Law) (Cum Laude) at the Rand Afrikaans University. He obtained an “Executive Business Certificate” from the Manchester Business School – University of Manchester (Cum Laude) in 1999.
He obtained a certificate in “Technical Film and Television Directing” at the Monash University in 2004. Adv. Alberts obtained a Canadian LL.B. from the Canadian Federation of Law Societies in 2007.
Adv Anton Alberts worked, amongst others, as a lecturer in Law at the Technikon SA (now part of Unisa) and as a part time lecturer at RAU/UJ, Wits University and Rhodes University. Adv. Alberts furthermore achieved a M.Phil in Futures Studies at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012.
He was allowed to the Bar in 1996. He was head of the Business and Legal Affairs Unit at M-Net from 1998 until 2001. He also worked at Shaw Communications and Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (Canada) from 2002 until 2004.
Adv. Alberts served as a councillor for the FF Plus in the Johannesburg Metro Council until 31 August 2009. Adv. Alberts at present serves as the chairperson of the FF Plus and is a member of the Federal Management and Executive management of the party.
He was inaugurated as MPL in the Gauteng Legislature on 22 May 2019.
