Aichata Foune Mohamed Sako (Aicha) has a robust background in data collection and analysis for decision making using technology and communication tools. For ten years, Aichata Foune Mohamed Sako (Aicha) has been actively involved in climate change adaptation strategies as well as resilience and sustainability programs in local communities, and interacts with local smallholders during annual trainings on rainfall patterns, vulgarization on adaptive and suitable crops according to climate variability, dissemination of varietal adaptation maps, and summary sheets on agricultural practices and technologies. Currently, she works as the knowledge management and GIS specialist on Malian Transition Program and has graduated with a PhD in climate change adaptation strategy in West-Africa. After the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she plans to start up a small agri-business mainly focused on advice, suitable seeds selection, and adaptation strategies for smallholders under changing climates in Mali.
