Akachukwu Nnaemeka Okafor
Akachukwu Nnaemeka Okafor has over ten years of experience in policy formulation, developing and managing projects across different development sectors such as energy, water and sanitation, education, and information communications technology. Currently, Akachukwu Nnaemeka Okafor is the Lead Consultant at Change Partners International, where he focuses on leading sustainability, environment and energy research, market analysis, policy formulation, policy reform support activities and facilitating public private partnerships for development projects. Besides these roles, he also leads energy access projects in some remote, rural, off-grid communities, facilitates energy entrepreneurship trainings, and also works as the Editor forEnergy and Environment at the Initiative for Policy Research and Analysis (InPRA). Akachukwu holds a Master of Science in Energy Policy for Sustainability from Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex, United Kingdom. Akachukwu is driven by the knowledge of the huge potential that access to sustainable energy has to accelerate sustainable development in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Akachukwu plans to increase his efforts in ensuring that an effective, sustainable, and robust energy system is developed in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, particularly one that accelerates the achievement of universal energy access goals.
