Alhaji Muhammed Imam Yahaya
Alhaji Muhammed Imam Yahaya is a highly respected and accomplished banker with almost 4 decades of cognate banking experience. He joined the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited in 2010.
Before his appointment, Alhaji Muhammed Imam Yahaya served – either as Chairman, Managing Director, Executive Director or Non-Executive Director – on the boards of several companies cutting across the major sectors of the Nigerian economy including banking, manufacturing, agro-allied, construction and mining.
Some of these companies and entities include Nigerian Securities & Exchange Commission, Bank of the North Limited, United Bank for Africa Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Savanah Bank of Nigeria Plc, Ashaka Cement Company Limited, among many others.
Alhaji Muhammed Yahaya began his career at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1965 and has held top management positions in reputable companies such as Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited and UTC Nigeria Limited
He has attended several prestigious educational institutions, and is an alumnus of Havard Business School, University of California, and Stanford Graduate School of Business, in the USA. He is also a fellow of several professional bodies and member of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers UK.
He holds the titles of Tafidan Minna, and Ma’ajin Nupe, both titles respectively conferred by the Emir of Minna and the Etsu Nupe. He also enjoys national recognition as Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).
He is married to Hajiya Mairo and they are blessed with children.
