Alphonse Kaputo Kalubi

Enginer from the first public university in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the National University of Zaire (UNAZA), Alphonse Kaputo Kalubi has nearly 40 years of experience in several fields of engineering and mining governance. These include fundamental geological research, geological exploration, detail or strategic prospecting, mining geology, geological mapping, applied geology, DRC mining law, mining economics, pre-feasibility studies and feasibility, organization and management of mining companies. Within Gécamines, where he is now Chairman of the Board of Directors since December 2021, Alphonse Kaputo Kalubi held several positions before his appointment by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo and carried out several missions. Without being exhaustive, we can cite that he directed and controlled the geological, cartographic and topographical activities on all Gécamines concessions; organized research for the mining development of Gécamines’ sectors and particularly issues related to the geology of the mines as well as the nature of the ores fed into the metal production plants. He was also responsible for collaborating in the development of Gécamines’ production, planning, research and development activity programs, the safeguarding of its geological heritage, the active participation in nearly 30 partnerships of the Congolese mining giant.
