AMOS KELTLELE WAS BORN IN THE DUSTY STREETS OF SOWETO’ WHERE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. HIS FAMILY AND HIM RESIDED NEXT TO A HOSTEL’ WHERE VARIOUS MIGRANT WORKERS LIVED. OVER THE WEEKENDS HE FEASTED OVER THE COLOURFUL PERFORMANCES THEY USE TO GIVE. AMOS KELTLELE COULD NOT ESCAPE NOT TO BE INSPIRED BY THESE SPIRITED PERFORMANCES.
SOON HIS FRIENDS AND HIM FOUND THEMSELVES PRACTISING. THEY BEGAN BUSKING AS GUMBOOT DANCERS. UNAWARE THAT SEED OF PASSION WAS BEING NURTURED. THEY THEN WENT ON TO ESTABLISH A YOUTH CLUB.
ELLINGOTN MAZIBUKO BECAME THEIR TEACHER IN TAP; BALLET & CONTEMPORARY DANCE.ELLINGTON THEN INTRODUCED HIM TO A DANCE ACADEMY WHERE HIS JOURNEY INTO THE WORLD OF DANCE TRULY BEGAN. HE LEARNT FROM GREAT TEACHERS SUCH AS MICHAEL FISCHER; ADEL BLANK & SANDRA ROSENBURG.
1987 SAW HIM PERFORM IN HIS FIRST MUSICAL PIECE “THE GREAT WORLDS”. THEN MOVED ONTO PERFORM IN KING AFRIKA; IPI NTOMBI; MARY WIDOW; WEST SIDE STORY & JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR AND MOST RECENTLY SOWETO STORY.
TODAY HE IS BLESSED TO HAVE PERFORMED ON SOME OF SOUTH AFRICA’S TOP STAGES AND ALONGSIDE PHENOMINAL DANCERS. AS A PERFORMER HE WAS NOT LIMITED TO THE STAGE HE ALSO BRANCHED INTO THE TV INDUSTRY AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACT IN SOME OF OUR LOCAL SOAPS INCLUDING GENERATIONS; ISIDINGO & ZERO TOLERNACE.
AS LONG AS HIS FEET KEEP TAPPING’ SKY IS THE LIMIT!
