Andidiong Okon

Andidiong Okon is a graduate in Economics from Covenant University and holds a master’s degree in International Development from the University of Bath, where she focused on the role of civil society in developing countries. With years of professional experience in investment banking and financial advisory, she has gone on to become an entrepreneur establishing Andies Candies with the goal of becoming Nigeria’s foremost indigenous confectionery company. Andidiong is a founding member of the advocacy group, Team Member, which supports victims of terrorist attacks in Nigeria and hopes to establish an orthopaedic centre in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Andidiong Okon is an ardent proponent for children’s education, particularly in Northern Nigeria through Ayahay Foundation. Andidiong intends to gain managerial and strategic skills upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship to positively impact the growth of her company and create employment opportunities in her state and support other female entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
