Anél van der Vyver

Anél van der Vyver is a newcomer to the fields of public management and law. In 2015 she began her career as a legal officer in the Office of the Attorney-General of the Republic of Namibia. Her responsibilities in this fast-paced political office include managing public relations in terms of office events and press releases, liaising with ministries and aggrieved members of the public to reach amicable solutions without the need to engage in costly litigation, and representing the interests of the Namibian government abroad. This type of work has shaped this young legal mind into an efficient communicator who can analyse a charged situation and implement a practical plan packaged as a creative solution. Upon her return from the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Anél van der Vyver intends to lead the establishment of a public-private partnership in order to combat lifestyle diseases which affect the entire population.
