Ania Farren is an international arbitrator with over 20 years’ industry experience advising and representing States and corporate entities on a wide variety of international dispute resolution and public international law matters, including commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. She has extensive experience advising on energy, infrastructure and mining disputes.
Ania is appointed regularly as chair, sole, co-arbitrator and party counsel jointly by parties and institutions including ICSID, LCIA , SCC and ICC. Ania also sits as an Arbitrator in jurisdictions across the globe including Asia, Europe, Middle-East, US and Africa regions and is a member of Arbitra. She holds Higher Rights of Audience which allow her to represent clients as a solicitor advocate in the Senior civil or criminal courts throughout England & Wales.
Ania is the first woman to hold the position as Chair of the ICC UK Committee on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, having previously held its Vice Chair position. She a member of the LCIA and also teaches pro bono courses on arbitration and mediation to State Advocates together with CIArb. She is the co-Chair of the International Arbitration Charity Ball Committee, a was a member of the ICCA / Queen Mary task-force on Third Party Funding. Prior to developing her arbitration career further, Ania also worked at a leading dispute resolution funder, assessing investment treaty arbitration claims. She is currently a Partner at Fieldfisher LLP.
