Anibal Mbalango

Head of the Extractives Industries Taxation Department Mozambique Revenue Authority

Anibal Mbalango is currently General Coordinator of the Extractive Industry Taxation Unit at the Mozambique Revenue Authority. Prior to this position, Mr. Mbalango served as Deputy Director General for Tax Policies, Revenue and Natural Resources Control at the MRA.

Mr. Mbalango is currently a Doctoral Student in Public Law at Universidade Catolica in Mozambique (5th Edition); his research topic is on the Legal Regime applicable to transfers of ownership certificates in the mining and oil sectors in Mozambique from 2010 to 2020.

Additionally, Mr. Mbalango currently teaches master’s level classes at Eduardo Mondlane University on accountancy and oil and gas taxation.

Anibal holds a master’s degree in Accountancy and Auditing from Universidade São Tomás in Mozambique, as well as degrees in legal sciences (Univeridade Politécnica) and geology (Universidade Eduardo Mondlane).
