Anthea Rhoda
Anthea Rhoda completed a BSc. Physiotherapy at the University of the Western Cape (1988). Then went on to complete the following degrees: BSc Honours Physiotherapy (Neurology): University of Stellenbosch (1996); MSc. Medical Sciences (Rehabilitation): University of Stellenbosch (2002), PhD (Physiotherapy). University of the Western Cape (2010). Her field of interest is neuroscience and rehabilitation of adults with neurological conditions.
This is all placed within the field of disability and rehabilitation with teaching and research based within the conceptual framework of the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF). Both her masters and PhD studies focussed on the rehabilitation of patients with stroke managed at Community Health Centres. The topic for her master’s degree was “A Profile of Stroke patients treated at the Bishop Lavis rehabilitation Centre:1995– 1999. And the topic for my PhD was Rehabilitation of Stroke Patients at Community Health Centres in the Metropole Region of the Western Cape.
