Assadi Said

Assadi Said is the founder of the first English teachers’ association on the island of Anjouan. As a volunteer English teacher and director of English programs in multiple regions, he works to increase the general fluency levels of Comorian students and professionals through English clubs and conversational classes. In addition, Assadi Said is the coordinator of many training efforts for new Anjouani English teachers. His English teaching career began ten years ago when he was a recent university graduate from the University of Comoros. With a bachelor’s in Applied Languages, he desired to serve his people in their pursuit of English proficiency. He hopes to gain more expertise in public management through YALI which can be applied to furthering the success of these English programs. Recently he has worked with the Peace Corps, aiding volunteers in their acquisition of his native Shindzuani language and culture to ensure their efficacy. Although the majority of his time is taken up with his English language endeavors, Said has also worked as a financial statistician for the Comorian National Civil Aviation since 2013. Stayed in Africa.
