Ayanda Ncwane
Ayanda Ncwane is the Managing Director of Ncwane Communications. Born and raised in Ndwedwe Mission, South Africa , Ayanda is also the wife of celebrated and famous gospel musician, S’fiso Ncwane. Ayanda grew up living with her granny who to her became her mother.
“Growing up with my grandmother allowed me to grow up mentally because my mother was always away as well as my father, so to us our granny is our mother,” said Ayanda with a smile. As a young girl growing up living in the rural area for Ayanda was definitely not going to be one of those cases where you would remain in the rural areas forever, become part of the statistics of being a rural woman and later on a wife to some old man. Ayanda matriculated in Ndwedwe and after her matric year, life really changed. She had always been interested in modelling. She entered for Miss Teen Durban which became her stepping stone to Miss Teen South Africa.
“After completing my matric at Nombika High School from Endwedwe, I went to Johannesburg to enter for Miss SA Teen. So a typical girl from the rural area ended up meeting friends in Johannesburg,” recalled Ayanda. The career of modelling opened doors for her, doors that she had never imagined being opened. In early 2000, Ayanda had to move to Johannesburg to live her dream. After setting foot in the big city, she describes it as “love at first site”. She fell in love with the place and knew that this is where she wanted to be.
Two years on, Ayanda Ncwane and her friends got a job as waitresses but that didn’t stop her from dreaming big and knowing who she wanted to be in the future. She went for auditions and got a few opportunities of acting as an extra in Generations and Isidingo. Success and fame were knocking hard on her door. Ayanda got a role of a Shangane girl in a show calledMzansi. The acting industry didn’t only open doors for her but it lead her into meeting her husband S’fiso Ncwane who is a gospel artist. Many years have passed since this day but she still remembers it like yesterday.
“I did a few of ama extras in Isidingo and Generations and then I carried on going for auditions which got me a role in Mzansi,” she said with a widening smile. Ayanda has always been a big dreamer and setting her goals high up there was what she did best. To her, being blessed with a husband like S’fiso Ncwane was and still is a true blessing. It has brought out who she is and what she is capable of doing. Her biggest dream while growing up was helping people who were around her. This trait, she believes, she took after her grandmother who didn’t allow anyone to starve while she could lend a hand. This simple yet essential lesson was embedded in Ayanda’s heart and mind that helping other people was key to a good life.
Ayanda Ncwane believes that the month of August is not just a month where females should be loved and respected by men but it is also a month of growth amongst women.
