Aziz Bala-Gaye

Aziz Bala-Gaye has over four years of experience in the public sector, primarily in trade, industrial growth, and development policy formulation for the socio-economic development of The Gambia(Africa). Currently, Aziz is a senior economist at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, and Employment, where he works in the Industry and Investment Directorate. Aziz Bala-Gaye focuses on promoting industrial development activities, providing policy advice to strengthen the industrial sector, and proposing practical solutions to enable a conducive business environment. He has an honors degree in Economics from the University of Kent. Aziz is driven by his commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods through employment creation, fighting against poverty. He hopes to see The Gambia transform into a well-developed nation, where all Gambians enjoy a high standard of living. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Aziz plans to continue his work in the public sector to strengthen institutions and contribute to inclusive economic growth and poverty eradication as stipulated in the country’s long-term development plans.
