Babalwa Louw

Babalwa Louw known as “ Mabhamza “ . Was born and bred in the small village of Alexandria in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Growing up with her grandparents made her develop the love of  news . They used to switch on the radio when its time for the news and story telling . That’s when her love for radio started.

Babalwa Louw a news lady , she has an for the news hosting Laphum’ikhwezi  that’s one of their current affairs show which air weekdays between 05h30 and 06h30 . Where they engaged with  their listeners to take part on their topics . Laphum’ikhwezi is one of the shows that are growing in numbers because they and her team came up with an idea of hosting guests or expects on the issue that they discuss on that particular day . One thing she wants her listeners to walk away with when she is on air is the information , to be educated , and also laughter as she believes that when she is behind the mic ,she is there to inform , educate and entertain the listeners.

She started with Radio in 2004 @ Inkqubela Community radio in Zwide . where she was a newsreader then in 2006 her x programme manager  made programme  changes and he gave her a slot between 18h00 and 18h30 to present our Current Affairs show Ziphakwa Zishushu and six months down the line he introduced herr to Party time slot between 22h00 and 01h00 am . In 2012 Mhlobo Wenene (the station of Champions) had a Female Presenter Talent Search where she took part but unfortunately for her she didn’t make it.

Few months after the talent search , she received a phone call from my x- Programme Manager  Xolani Yisaka who told her that he received a Phone call from one of SABC news Senior Producers telling him that they heard Potential on her when they were listening to the programmes they presented during the Talent Search programme . That’s how she joined the station of the Champions ..

Xolani Yisaka  ,Patrick Dalindyebo and Nontlahla Tandwa influenced her to be the OAP she is today.
