Bokani Mathape

Ms Mathape is the founder and president of Women in Tourism Botswana and a young tourism professional. Through her work in tourism for the past seven years, she has acquired a diverse repertoire of skills and expertise in areas such as camp management, team leadership, guest relation & interaction, as well as relief management. In 2018, Ms Mathape was awarded a place in a prestigious exchange program that exposed her to the international hospitality industry. She now uses what she learned on that programme to make significant contributions to the growth of the tourism & hospitality industry in Botswana. Her immense passion for the industry, especially with regards to women development & leadership in tourism, motivated her to establish Women in Tourism Botswana. Through this NGO, Ms Mathape intends to inspire and empower women in the industry so that they can be fellow game changers and industry movers.

Bokani holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Tourism & Hospitality Management), is the Country Representative (Botswana) for Africa Association of Women in Tourism & Hospitality, a Pyne Awards 2022 Winner and part of the interim committee for SADC Women in Tourism“
