Botshabelo Maja

Mr Botshabelo Maja was appointed to his current position in August 2008. He holds a BA (Hons) and a Master’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.Mr Maja has led the review, upgrading, and development of new curricula for junior and middle managers in the public service. From 2003 to 2008, he was the senior executive manager for Labour Market Policy at the Department of Labour.

He currently serves on the Higher Education and Training task team for Seta performance. Mr Maja also served for three years as convener of the Ministerial task team on the reconstitution of technical colleges into Further Education and Training Colleges.

He has published extensively on skills development and related institutional mechanisms, schooling effectiveness and quality, the culture of learning, and higher education with a particular emphasis on historically black institutions.
