Budzanani Tacheba
Budzanani is currently Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Botswana Innovation Hub, and serves as Executive Director, Innovation and Technology, where he oversees innovation support programmes and technology entrepreneurship development, facilitating R&D, innovation, and technology funding/commercialisation. Previously held positions include Research Fellow at the University of Botswana (ORI); Regional Coordinator, Global Monitoring for Food Security Consortium Project (SADC-ESA); and interim Coordinator in the Botswana Innovation Hub Project Office.
He has 20 years’ cumulative experience in academia (R&D), industry (product development) and government (science, technology, and innovation policy). He served as a non-executive director in the Medical Education Partnership Initiative Advisory Board and currently serves on the Botswana Geoscience Institute and Botswana Postal Services Limited Boards, amongst others. He is the Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Physics and Astronomy department at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST). In addition, he is also the co-editor of Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy Making: Its Trends and Objectives in Developing Countries.
