and a hunger to sing, Buhlebendalo has not only made an indelible mark in this

dream to release her solo album, and with the blessings of those who walk besides
her, Buhlebendalo now embarks on a music journey where eagles dare.

Not a stranger to the stage Buhlebendalo has already graced stages, performing at
concerts and festivals, locally and abroad in East and Western Europe, Asia Pacific,
Oceania, North and South America, East and Southern Africa at festivals such as
Womad, Edinburgh Festival, AfroVibes, Africa Now (Apollo), White Nights in St
Petersburg, Bassline International Festival, Sakifo, Zakifo, Bayimba Music Festival,
Bushfire, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, Cape Town International Jazz Festival,
Grahamstown International Arts Festival, just to mention a few.

Her debut album, Chosi, is uncompromisingly rooted in ancient tradition, yet Afro-
urban rhythms, Buhlebendalo describes her music offering as Isigqi Sakwantu –

rhythms of the ancients. She has entered a space that asserts and confirms her true
identity – intombi yasemlanjeni – from which she has created her own style.

With her solo career now in the limelight, Buhlebendalo invites her fans to a sacred
yet spiritual space that only those attuned to divine harmonies break into a trance as
if possessed by those who came before us. For her fans, Buhlebendalo lays bare her soul for all to see and, in submission to her vocal capability, which she laces with ease the melodies Buhlebendalo let the listener
