Cameron has managed to transform a passion project aimed at cleaning plastic from the rivers in Durban, into a project that has over 75 staff working across the country in rivers- collecting over 25 tonnes of plastic per month- as well as reclaimers, the buyback Centre and has even established an innovation hub and subsequent Wastepreneur Project that focuses on beneficiating plastic waste from the environment into valuable products.
His first line of products will be on the shelves at Mr Price Home on the 8th of June, with plans to expand his production facility in 2023 with strategic partners.
This is the only large-scale river interception programme in the country and has garnered the support of Ethekwini, the City of Cape Town and the private sector.
