Catherine Edgar

Catherine arrived in South Africa in July 1981 and in February 1982 joined Shield Buying & Distribution as receptionist and shortly thereafter was promoted to personal assistant to the Managing Director. In addition to this she also carried out secretarial duties for the legal advisor (Mark Smith) and his assistant. When Mark Smith was made joint managing director of Shield, Catherine was Personal Assistant to both MD’s as well as the newly appointed legal director.

In June 1997 Catherine left Shield to join FoneWorx where she is the personal assistant to the CEO, Mark Smith, as well as carrying out secretarial duties for the other directors and senior staff. Catherine is also responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day ‘behind the scenes’ operations in the company.
