Chisom Okwukwe Okoye
Chisom Okwukwe Okoye is a community advocate with over four years of experience in children’s health and education in Nigeria. Chisom is the founder of Children Solace International, a nonprofit volunteer organization, which aims to improve access to quality healthcare and education for underprivileged children, thereby expanding their opportunities to reach their full potential. As the program director, Chisom focuses on project planning and implementation, community relations, partnerships and collaboration, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment and management. Currently, Chisom also volunteers as a medical doctor in a rural hospital, where Chisom Okwukwe Okoye facilitates a prenatal clinic for out-of-school pregnant teenagers. Chisom holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a Primaries Fellowship from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Pediatrics. Chisom is passionate about providing equal opportunities for every child regardless of their social status. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Chisom plans to expand the impact of her work to more states in Nigeria, launch new initiatives centered on children, and re-enroll approximately 2,250 children in school within the next five years.
