Chris Roelofse

Chris manages STANLIB Multi-Manager’s alternative assets fund-of-funds portfolio.
Over his career, Chris has fulfilled a variety of roles that relate to investment strategy and portfolio construction. He has applied this skill to the benefit of pension funds, life companies and individual investors. His involvement in the investment process has ranged from equity analysis, research and development, consulting, and portfolio management.
Chris joined STANLIB from Liberty where he was a balance sheet manager responsible for the R20 billion shareholder investment portfolio and lead various strategic capital management initiatives. During this time he initiated various alternative investments which culminated in the present portfolio that he is responsible for.
Chris serves on Liberty’s Property Investment Executive that is responsible for oversight of the R30 billion Liberty Property Portfolio, and is a Trustee on Liberty’s R35 billion Corporate Selection Umbrella Fund. His qualifications include BSc in financial mathematics, CFA, CFP and MBA (cum laude).
