Christy Ijang Anang
Anang Christy Ijang has over six years of experience working as a radio journalist with Calvary Good News radio in Kumba, Cameroon. She writes short radio drama scripts in Pidgin English and runs an interactive radio program on pregnancy. She is also the founder of the TWIN- Me Foundation, an NGO that helps women in rural areas access information on pregnancy through storytelling and a mobile awareness campaign. Additionally, Christy created the LOMANIJ Paper Bag Initiative, which empowers women and people with disabilities by teaching them to produce eco-friendly paper bags. She holds a bachelor degree in Curriculum Studies from the University of Buea and is a YALI West Africa Regional Leadership Center alumna. Christy is committed to reducing the high rates of preventable maternal and infant death in rural communities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship,Christy Ijang Anang plans to establish a mobile clinic and train community birth attendants to ensure that pregnant women receive at least one medical check a month during their pregnancies.
