Clive is a global executive with over 20 years’ experience in international procurement and supply chain, strategy & sustainability.
Clive has worked in mining, industrial and automotive industries and has gain extensive experience in strategy formulation and implementation, Procurement/ supply chain, supplier diversity, sustainable development and technology/ innovation.
A successful business leader who has turned entrepreneur at the beginning of 2016 and has started up a boutique Procurement & Supply Chain consulting firm, CGC Consulting. Clive has also Co- Founded Black Umbrellas CGC Consulting (BUCGC) a business involved in the design and implementation of supplier diversity programs for corporates with a key focus on SME development.
He is also the CEO & Founder of Adapt Digital Solutions, a technology business focused developing supply chain solutions linking SMME’s to mining and energy companies supply chains. Adapt Digital Solutions has a strategic business partnership with technology leader, Accenture. The joint organization uses cloud based platforms, artificial intelligence and other digital technology to reduce costs and streamline supply chain processes within the global mining & energy sectors.
Clive’s’ last role before moving into entrepreneurship was as Group Head of Supply Chain (Chief Procurement Officer) for Anglo American Platinum from 2005-2015, part of Anglo American Group. He was also responsible in assisting in the restructuring of Anglo Americans’ procurement &supply chain to a world class, center- led organizational structure and delivered over 1.5BUSD of benefits from 2008 – 2012.
Clive has also work for ABB as General Manager- Group process and thereafter Vice President Supply Chain & Sustainability for Sub- Sahara Africa for a period of 9 years.
Clive is an expert advisor to Procurement 50, a division of the World 50 group. An invite only forum for Global Chief Procurement Officers (CPO’s) on the subject of procurement/ supply chain & supplier diversity.
He is the former member of the International Alumni Council of London business School and is currently President of the South African charter of London Business School. He is a sought after international speaker on the subject of supplier diversity, procurement, supply chain & digital technology .
He has been the architect of the Mining 2050 Program at the premier Mining Indaba, Cape Town with its inaugural launch in 2018. The Mining 2050 Program has been renamed InfraTech and Clive chairs this stream of the conference.
Clive has a Bsc (Hons), Bcom, MBA (Henley UK), Senior Executive Program (London Business School) and currently reading for his PHD in entrepreneurship and supply chain.
Clive is also a guest lectures at London Business School, UK and University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business on the EMBA program
