Cristina Nhelete Americo Viola

Cristina Nhelete Americo Viola has four years’ professional experience as a civil engineer and has worked on several projects within her home Country, Mozambique. Currently, She works as an Assistant Lecturer of Hydrology and Hydraulic Engineering in the Civil Engineer Department at Eduardo Mondlane University (EMU), Mozambique. Her primary assignment is lecturing, guiding lab classes, preparing assignments and conducting scientific researches. Cristina Nhelete Americo Viola also joined Salomon, a consultancy company in water resources and environment, as a Senior Hydraulic Engineer. Her duties at Salomon involve the development of project activities such as GIS, flood management, environmental assessment and research fields. Cristina holds a B.Sc. (Honors) Degree in civil engineer since 2012 from EMU and an M.Sc. degree in Coastal Engineering and Port Development from the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, The Netherlands. Cristina strives to exhibit excellence in working as an individual and as a team player in a dynamic and challenging environment. Her passion for human empowerment has allowed her to contribute to the society through lecturing and mentoring students in her field of expertise. Cristina aspires to continuously contribute to society through knowledge sharing and establishing strong links between the academic society and the private sector which will create potential for future generations.
