Cross Kgosidiile
Mr. Cross Kgosidiile joined the Botswana Power Corporation on 1st June 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. Cross Kgosidiile plays a key role in financial restructuring and long term sustainability of the Corporation. He will further drive the ICT agenda, which is intended to enable BPC to achieve its Mission of providing safe, competitive and reliable electricity supply.
Kgosidiile’s career started in retailing as a Graduate Accounts Trainee with the Cash Bazaar Group in 1992. After 5 years with the Group he moved to join the National Airline, Air Botswana as Financial Accountant. He was later promoted to position of Finance Manager – reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, a position he held for over 5 years. His areas of responsibility covered Finance, Information Technology and Supply Chain Management. He was part of the team that turned around the Airline, resulting in Air Botswana achieving profitability for 7 successive years.
Cross Kgosidiile was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund in 2005, and successfully led the Fund for a period in excess of 10 years. Under his leadership the MVA Fund achieved multiple awards in Corporate Reporting, Customer Service and Staff Engagement – rated the Best Company To Work For over 5 consecutive years in a survey conducted by Deloitte Consultant. In addition to these milestone, he spearheaded the Fund’s transformation process, which involved changing the Fund’s Legal Framework, Work Culture and Implementation of Integrated Information Technology Systems to make the Fund customer-centric, and financially sustainable.
MVA Fund achieved a rare fit of growth with its balance sheet growing by over 3 folds on a period more than 10 years, and without any fuel levy rate increase over the same period. The Fund was recognised as a benchmark organisation both within the Botswana Parastatal sector and in the Region. Kgosidiile left the Fund in January 2016, and has been undertaking Business Consultancy since then, with focus on Corporate Finance and Strategy.
Cross Kgosidiile graduated from the University of Botswana where he obtained both his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) Degree and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and also serves as its Membership Assessor. He is also a fellow member of the Botswana Institute of Accountants.
Kgosidiile served as Board Chairman for the Botswana Building Society and was also a member of Botswana Railways and KYS Investments Limited Board of Directors. Currently, he is a Board Member of Prime Time Property Holdings Limited, ABM University (Council Member) and Stanbic Bank Botswana Limited.
