Cynthia Akumanue
Cynthia Akumanue is a pharmacist with over nine years’ experience in hospital and community pharmacy practice. Currently, she heads the Pharmacovigilance/Research/Drug Information Center at the Tamale Teaching Hospital in northern Ghana. She coordinates pharmacovigilance activities and pharmaceutical research and provides drug information to healthcare professionals and the general public. Additionally, she is a managing partner at Medicare Pharmacy Limited, a private community pharmacy, where her team and her are committed to making quality pharmaceutical care accessible to the people of Tamale and beyond. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Cynthia Akumanue also holds a Master of Arts in Leadership and Development from the University for Development Studies. Her passion for promoting reading among children led her to start a reading club for children in her community. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Cynthia plans to continue her work in ensuring quality pharmaceutical care delivery. She also hopes to liaise with schools in northern Ghana to establish reading clubs, promoting reading habits among children.
